The Millstad in Joppa, MD

We got married here this past October. This place is a hidden gem. When we were initially shopping around for venues, there were several things that were important to us. This place is soooo accommodating. For the money, you can't beat this place. You can use whichever caterer you want and you will not feel rushed. We were even allowed to come on the Friday before our wedding to set everything up. When shopping for venues, most places never gave us this opportunity. They wanted to turn and burn and it just wasn't what we wanted. The owner of the place, Bruce, is a fabulous person! He bent over backwards to make sure we were satisfied. The place is very rustic and you feel that as soon as you walk into the place. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a rustic feeling with a cost effective budget. It is best suited for non-summer months since there is no air, but you know that ahead of time. This was not a problem for us since we got married in the fall.

I had a friend get married at Wyndridge Farms in PA two weeks ago and the venue was incredible. It is actually a brewery that sits on a lot of land. Kerry Paradis was actually the photographer there and she did an amazing job! The food was out of this world! We had prime rib and others had crab cakes. The views were breathtaking. I took a picture from inside the brewery which I thought was pretty cool. I plan on just going up there for dinner one night. If I was looking for a venue, I would definitely consider Wyndridge Farms. I am sure they book up fast so you definitely want to plan far in advance.

We recently got married at Celebrations on the Bay. Don't get me wrong, the view is great, but there are multiple venues at the same location. There was another wedding going that started before we were supposed to get married. We were down by the pier getting some pictures when someone from the other venue came over and told us we couldn't get our pictures on the pier. At this point we were losing daylight fast. Come to find out, the other wedding was running an hour behind schedule and we were basically penalized for it. By the time their ceremony was over it was too dark. All the pictures had to be taken with flash and we couldn't use the pier because the lighting would no longer work. We were so upset! I had a friend get married there two years ago who had a similar experience. I would never get married there again and would ask you to reconsider or at least ask the proper questions before you book with them.

This place was old and rustic. That is exactly what we wanted for our venue. Everything about our day was perfect from start to finish. Packages with the Mansion are all inclusive! They truly take care of everything. Prices are reasonable and they are willing to make your day what you want. I can not say enough about the beauty and size of the venue. Logistics worked perfectly! The staff was incredible the day/night of the wedding. My parents were blown away by the assistance and care that we received by the staff. They didn't miss a beat - and it really helped our day run so smoothly. Pictures at this venue turned out great! (Thank you Kerry Paradis Photography) I couldn't ask for a place that was more of a mix of my husband and I than the mansion. They really are experienced in hosting weddings there and leave no room for confusion or error. Thank you to all of the staff and everyone who made our day amazing! I highly recommend hosting a wedding (ceremony and reception) at this venue. *They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space with a good back up option when it rains. This was something that separated this venue from the others that we toured.
