Living that Sober Life! Grateful! I wrote this in hopes to reach people who are in need of making positive changes in their lives…Below the second women was lost and the first picture the women is now found. Being transparent is the best way to be in this world that we live in now. There are so many people suffering and feel like there is no HOPE! Mental Health is not talked about enough! It’s okay to talk about it! There were so many people hurting prior to the Pandemic and now it’s beyond imaginable. I want you to know that you are not alone! You can change and be the best version of yourself. So much anxiety and depression weighs on people and they turn to alcohol or drugs. I see it first hand where I do some part time work in the Community. Unfortunatley, it’s like a merry go round and you’ll never find peace until you get the help you need. The drinking/drugging only make the anxiety and depression worse. You drink/drug to try and make yourself feel better; in return you feel worse and your life becomes unmanageable. I’m proof if you get the help you need you will be able to Live your Best Life! It’s an incredible feeling when you are clear headed and things in your life are how they were meant to be for you. You become so grateful and appreciative of the little things in life. As some of you know my Mother is a terrible alcoholic and was awful to me as a child into my adulthood. Our relationship was so toxic. It’s been exactly a year today since I have spoken to her. I have broken the cycle of the horrible Mother/Daughter relationships of three generations and will continue to be the best Mother to my daughters that I can be.
There is a beautiful life for you and you deserve to live it. Self Care is so important. It only helps you be a better parent, spouse, friend and family member. The people who really care about you want to see you succeed and will only reap the benefits of the healthy you! Don’t worry about what people think of you. They are so wrapped up in their own stuff they shouldn’t be judging you. Trust me everyone has things going on in their life. The ones that act like they don’t have it worse than most people. Things need to Change in this WORLD. We have to pull together. It’s up to you to make the changes in your life. Honestly, at the end of the day YOU and YOUR Family are all that matters.
I want to be able to help as many people as I can. I’m currently working on my hours in the field at Harbor of Grace Enhanced Recovery Center in Havre De Grace, MD. Once my hours are completed I can sit for the certification to become a Peer Counselor Recovery Specialist. If you are in a dark place please reach out for help. There is always HOPE. GOD has a plan for all of us! #StrongerTogether #SoberLiving #StayPositive
